폴리선생의 영어기도 - 죄의 고백
O Lord, we have not longed for your coming and your kingdom as we ought. Instead, clinging to the things of this world and counting them dear, we have grown callous to needs of the poor and downtrodden, the lonely and the suffering. We have not cried out for justice as we should. Nor have we cared about those who are without Christ and without hope in this world. We have been silent when we could have spoken and have lacked boldness in our witness. Lord, forgive us for our offenses. And grant that by the power of your Spirit we might live in light of your coming again. We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Savior. Amen.
주님, 우리는 주님과 하나님 나라의 강림을 갈망하지 못했습니다. 그 대신 이 세상의 것들에 집착하고 의지했고, 가난하고 억압받는 사람들과 고통받고 외로운 사람들에게 차갑게 대했습니다. 우리가 외쳐했야했던 정의에 대해 그러지 못했습니다. 또한 이 세상의 소망없는, 그리스도를 알지못하는 사람들을 돌보지도 못했습니다. 우리가 받은 은혜에 대해 증거하지 못했고 담대하지 못했습니다. 주님, 우리의 범죄를 용서해주시옵소서. 그리고 당신의 다시오심의 빛 가운데 살아갈 성령님의 힘으로 우리를 받아주시옵소서. 우리 구주 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 구합니다. 아멘
